Trips to the Mall

When I was younger, I remember going to the mall every year with my family. My mom and I left the house and set the home security alarm (click) before we got into the car. We would then trek over to my grandmother's house and wait for my aunt and cousins to get over there as well. This would be fairly early in the morning, usually around nine or so. We'd then all huddle into the car and make a trip over to the mall to do our Christmas shopping. I would shop with my cousins, since we'd be buying presents for our families and grandparents. It would usually take a good three or four hours to do all of the shopping.
After we would finish, we'd all go out to eat in a nice restaurant. The mall and the adjoining restaurant would always be so crowded, but it was also a nice getaway from normal life. I kind of miss going shopping every year with them. We did this shopping as children and now we all live in different areas of the country. My cousins are in college and my grandmother lives on the other side of the country. I guess it's one of those things that will be just a nice memory to think back on. Sometimes when I go Christmas shopping, I miss having my cousins with me.
